Primary School

The legislator attended Kikuyu Township Primary, a public mixed primary school between 1983 to 1990. He said of his education journey,

“I started my education journey at Kikuyu Township Primary School and was lucky enough to have my family take me to and from school every single day,” he told the Daily Nation.

He was a brilliant student, and it was no surprise when he excelled in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams, securing a spot at a national school.

Alliance High School (1991-1994)

After completing his KCPE, Kimani Ichung’wah joined Alliance High School, a prestigious national institution known for its rich history of nurturing the brightest brains in the country.

He said that it was this school that opened his mind. “I grew up around one ethnic community but Alliance was different. I came across people from across the country.”

“It’s then that I got to appreciate that Kenya is bigger than Kikuyu and that has helped me in my work today as a politician,” he added.

Strathmore University (1995-1997)

His dream of becoming a lawyer was derailed when he missed the university cut-off points by two marks. While waiting to join the University of Nairobi (UoN), he enrolled at Strathmore School of Accountancy, where he pursued a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) course.

UoN (1996-2000)

Kimani Ichung’wah joined the University of Nairobi (UoN), where he graduated with an honors degree in Economics in 2000. After qualifying as a CPA-K in his second year at UoN, the legislator also enrolled in a diploma course in Banking and Finance.
