As the country continues to experience economic growth and diversification, the highest-paid CEOs stand out not only for their impressive salaries but also for their educational backgrounds.

In this article, WoA looks at the prestigious learning institutions that have produced some of Nigeria’s top executives.

1. Ebenezer Onyeagwu

Ebenezer Onyeagwu graduated with an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in 1984 and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting in 1987 from Auchi Polytechnic, Nigeria.

He later earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy from the University of Oxford, England, and attended executive programs at Wharton, Columbia, and Harvard Business Schools.

Additionally, Onyeagwu received a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2023.

2. Karl Olutokun Toriola

Karl Olutokun Toriola holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria (1987-1994).

He also holds a Master of Science in Communication Systems from Swansea University, UK (1995-1996).

Additionally, Olutokun completed several executive programs at prestigious institutions, including Harvard Business School, London Business School, INSEAD, and IMD.

3. Lars Richter

Lars Richter studied pharmacy at the University of Vienna from 2002 to 2007, earning recognition for academic excellence.

He completed his PhD in pharmacy in December 2012 at the Medical University of Vienna.

4. Roger Brown

Roger Brown holds a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Dundee, completed in 1992, and a graduate degree from the University of Ulster, obtained in 1993.

He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.

5. Arvind Pathak

Arvind Pathak holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee), which he completed in 1980.

He also earned a postgraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and Management in 1982 from the National Institute of Industrial Engineering.

His extensive career spans over 30 years in the cement industry, including leadership roles at Birla Corp and Associated Cement Company.

6. Dr. Samba Seye

Dr. Samba Seye holds a Doctorate Degree in Engineering from the University of Sciences and Techniques of Lille, France, where he also served as an assistant lecturer.

Additionally, he attended the Groupe Institut Africain De Management for his earlier studies.

7. Hans Essaadi

Hans Essaadi’s educational background includes attending Pan-Atlantic University in Nigeria, recognized for its focus on developing competent professionals.

Prior to this role, he held significant positions at Al Ahram Beverages Company in Egypt and HEINEKEN Malaysia Berhad.

His extensive experience in the beverage industry spans various leadership roles across different countries, emphasizing his expertise in corporate management and strategic development.

8. Segun Agbaje

Segun Agbaje attended St. Gregory’s College in Obalende for his early education.

He then completed his secondary education at St. Augustine Academy in Kent, England.

Agbaje pursued higher education at the University of San Francisco, California, where he earned a Bachelor of Accounting and a Master of Business Administration.

He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

9. Tim Kleinebenne

Tim Kleinebenne holds a Diploma in Business Economics from Universität Hamburg, Germany, which he completed between 1986 and 1992.

He currently serves as the Managing Director of Unilever Nigeria Plc, having previously held various leadership roles within Unilever across different countries, including Côte d’Ivoire and Ethiopia.

10. Babatunde Fajemirokun

Babatunde Fajemirokun earned a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Lagos and a Higher National Diploma in Insurance from The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Master’s in Business Information Strategy from the University of Strathclyde.

Additionally, he has completed various professional courses, including a Management Advancement Program at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
