He has a diverse aviation background, including roles as a military and commercial pilot, making him the first pilot in Kenya to hold a PhD.

Education
Njeru earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi, which provided him with a strong foundation in business principles.
He furthered his education by obtaining a PhD in Strategic Management, making him the first Kenyan pilot to achieve this advanced degree.
In addition to his degrees, Njeru completed a Diploma in Aviation Leadership from the Air Training Wing in Mississippi, USA.
Notably, this program enhanced his knowledge of aviation management and leadership practices, equipping him with valuable skills for his career.
Career
Njeru began his career in the Kenya Air Force after joining in 1997 and quickly distinguished himself as the top student in his class.
He enrolled in the Armed Forces Training College located in Nakuru, which functioned in partnership with Egerton University.
Upon completing his course, Njeru was honored with the presidential award for achieving the distinction of the best student pilot and subsequently joined the Laikipia Air Base.
In 2007, after 14 years in the military, he transitioned to commercial aviation by joining Kenya Airways.
Over his tenure at Kenya Airways, he has accumulated more than 17,000 flight hours, demonstrating extensive experience in various aircraft and flight operations.
As a Type Rating Instructor Pilot (TRI), Njeru plays a crucial role in training other pilots on specific aircraft types.
